The Ultimate Checklist for Homebuyers

Buying a home can be exciting and fun, especially if you know what to expect. Here is a checklist so you are prepared.

 
  1. Buyer appointment
  2. Home search criteria
  3. Blue Brochure/ Buyer Representation Agreement
  4. Lender pre-qualification/ pre-approval (call me for referrals)
  5. Good Faith Estimate/ Truth in Lending from lender
  6. Get homeowner’s insurance info to buyer and seller
  7. Email MLS listings to you (if applicable)
  8. Showings
  9. Offer/ Negotiations/ Acceptance
  10. Official loan commitment letter to Seller
  11. Property Disclosure Form
  12. Lead Based Paint disclosure form (if applicable)
  13. Home inspection
  14. Get necessary information to Insurance Company for Homeowner’s Insurance
  15. Repairs
  16. Review Title Commitment/Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs)
  17. Appraisal
  18. Put utilities in your name (from date of possession)
  19. Final walk-through (verify items left in home per contract; check repairs)
  20. Closing/sign documents at the Title Company
  21. Fund and record at the County
  22. Receive keys/garage door opener (if applicable)
  23. Moving (call me for referrals)
